Motherhood sessions will always hold a special place in my heart—but this one felt extra meaningful.
I recently had the honor of photographing the Mels family again, this time during my Greenwood Mother’s Day Mini Sessions, and getting to see them step into this new season with baby Luke was so full-circle.
Just a few months ago, I captured Luke’s newborn session, and now here he is—growing, changing, and already so deeply loved.
There’s something incredibly special about documenting families across seasons.
From those quiet, sleepy newborn moments to the more interactive, connection-filled stages… it all happens so fast. Sessions like these are a reminder of why photos matter—they freeze time in a season that never lasts long enough.
Luke was calm, curious, and completely content in his parents’ arms. You can already see his personality starting to shine, and the way his parents look at him says everything.
These mini sessions are designed to be simple, relaxed, and focused on connection—because that’s what matters most.
No pressure. No overthinking. Just real moments between you and your babies.
So many moms spend their time behind the camera, documenting everyone else. This is your chance to step in, be present, and have something tangible to look back on years from now.
The Mels family brought such a calm, loving energy into the studio.
Every interaction felt natural—from the soft snuggles to the quiet in-between moments. Those are always my favorite to capture.
It’s never about perfect poses. It’s about how it feels.
And this session? It felt like warmth, new beginnings, and a whole lot of love.
If you’ve been considering a session like this, take this as your sign.
These moments—right now, as they are—deserve to be remembered.
Whether you’re holding a newborn, chasing a toddler, or simply wanting to be in the frame with your kids… there’s never a “perfect” time. But there is value in documenting it anyway.
I’ll definitely be bringing these sessions back again, and I already can’t wait to create more moments like this.
In the meantime, I’m so grateful for families like the Mels who trust me to tell their story.
