Welcoming Baby Colin | A Cozy In-Home Newborn Session in Carmel, Indiana

One of the greatest joys of being a family photographer is watching families grow. I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Kurtz family again as they welcomed their newest little one, baby Colin! This session was extra special because I’ve been capturing their milestones for years, starting when their oldest, Harrison, was a newborn.

I first met the Kurtz family through a connection with interior designer Kara Grider when I photographed their stunning Carmel home. Shortly after, they reached out for their first fall family photos, and since then, we’ve created so many beautiful memories together. It’s always such a privilege to document their journey!

Baby Colin was an absolute dream to photograph—so calm, cuddly, and sweet. He was content snuggled up throughout his entire session, which definitely gave me a little bit of baby fever! His big brothers, Harrison and Theo, were so excited to introduce him and were full of energy and love for their new sibling. Seeing their bond already forming was heartwarming.

We held their session in their beautifully designed home in Carmel, Indiana, which provided the perfect cozy backdrop for this special moment. Alicia and Kara did an incredible job with the interior, making every room feel both elegant and inviting—ideal for an in-home newborn session.
