Backyard Kiddie Pool Magic | Indianapolis Family Photographer + Mom Life

As a full-time Indianapolis family photographer, I spend most of my days capturing other families’ most precious memories—but when it comes to photographing my own son, Beau, it’s not always as easy as it sounds.

I want to take more photos of him. I really do. But after a long day of sessions, editing, emails, and business tasks, it’s hard to find the time—or the creative spark—to pick up my camera for myself. Anyone else relate?

But the other evening, I felt that familiar itch. You know the one—when the light is just right and your kid is doing something sweet and simple that you know you’ll want to remember forever. Beau was splashing around in his backyard kiddie pool, laughing and soaking up every bit of summer, and I knew I had to grab my camera.

And I’m so glad I did.

These images are nothing fancy or posed, but they feel real and full of joy. They remind me of why I fell in love with photography in the first place—not just to deliver beautiful galleries to my clients, but to document the little moments that make up our everyday lives.
