Best Indianapolis Date Night Spots After Your Engagement Session
Make the Most of Your Session with a Night Out!
As an Indianapolis wedding photographer, I always encourage couples to treat their engagement session as more than just a photo shoot—it’s a memory in the making! You’re already dressed up, feeling connected, and probably glowing a bit from being in front of the camera. So why not make it a full date night?
One of my favorite tips: plan dinner right after your session. It turns a day of taking photos into a meaningful experience together. You’ll already be in a great mood, and it’s the perfect way to celebrate this season of life.
Here are some of my absolute favorite spots around Indianapolis for a romantic and delicious dinner after your session:
My personal favorite—this is where my husband and I love to go. Union 50 has a cozy yet upscale vibe with a menu that always impresses. It’s perfect for couples who want something a little elevated but still comfortable.
If you’re in the mood for classic Italian in a charming, intimate setting, Capri is the place. Their pasta is incredible, and it feels like a hidden gem tucked away in the city.
Salt on Mass is a great option for couples who love seafood or steak in a lively, modern atmosphere. Their craft cocktails and beautifully plated dishes make it feel like a special night out.
For food that’s both fresh and full of flavor, Convivio hits the mark. Their menu blends modern and traditional Italian dishes in the best way. It’s stylish, cozy, and perfect for a celebratory meal.
Located in the heart of Fountain Square, Maialina offers handmade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and an artsy, romantic vibe. It’s ideal if your engagement session took place nearby—or if you just want a vibrant post-shoot dinner.
For something unique, head to Bodhi. This Thai bistro has a beautiful ambiance (seriously, the décor is stunning!) and flavors that will transport you. It’s perfect for couples who want to try something new and delicious.
Pro Tip:
Some of my couples even bring a change of shoes and turn the night into a mini celebration. Whether it’s clinking glasses over cocktails or sharing dessert at your favorite restaurant, your engagement session can be the start of a beautiful evening.
Final Thoughts
Engagement sessions aren’t just about the photos—they’re about connection. So make a night of it. Go to dinner, talk about the future, soak up the moment. And if you need help choosing the perfect spot or timing your session around golden hour and reservations, I’m happy to help with that, too!
