As an Indianapolis family and newborn photographer, few things are as special as documenting the moments just before a new baby arrives. I recently met up with Brandi and Jake at the always-gorgeous Holcomb Gardens for a sweet maternity session ahead of their baby boy’s arrival—and let me tell you, it was such a joy!

We lucked out with unseasonably perfect weather—bright sunshine, a warm breeze, and just enough shade to make Holcomb Gardens feel like a dream location. It’s quickly becoming a client favorite for maternity and family photos, and I totally see why. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and conveniently located right here in Indianapolis.

Brandi and Jake were glowing with excitement as they talked about welcoming their little one. We spent our session walking the garden paths, chatting about newborn prep, and capturing this calm-before-the-storm moment. Their chemistry, laughter, and quiet anticipation made every frame feel so full of heart.

I’ll be photographing their in-home newborn session as soon as their baby boy arrives, and I love that we had this time together beforehand. Maternity sessions are such a beautiful way for expectant parents to slow down, connect, and savor this short but meaningful chapter before baby arrives.
