Katie and Sam reached out over Labor Day weekend for a mini session at Holcomb Gardens on Butler University’s campus. Their goal was to have photos ready early for their Christmas cards—which honestly surprised me in the best way! Most people wait until the last minute for holiday photos, so I was thrilled to work with true planners.
Katie actually found me through the BFF Indy Facebook group, which makes me so happy. I love connecting with new clients in Indianapolis this way and capturing milestones for couples who want timeless, natural photos.
Even though this wasn’t an engagement session, the photos definitely had the sweet, romantic feel that so many of my couples love. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy photographing at Holcomb Gardens—it’s one of the most versatile spots in Indianapolis. Between the greenery, stone steps, bridges, and beautiful golden light, it’s a dream location for engagement photography, couples sessions, and even family portraits.
Katie and Sam made the most of their short and sweet mini session. Their laughter, connection, and joy came through in every shot. Sessions like this prove that you don’t need hours in front of the camera to create beautiful images you’ll want to share.
As an Indianapolis engagement photographer, I love helping couples find the perfect backdrop for their session. Holcomb Gardens is a favorite, but I also photograph couples around the Indianapolis Canal, downtown Indy, White River State Park, and the Artsgarden. Each location offers a unique look, and together we can choose the setting that feels most authentic to your relationship.
If you’re recently engaged—or even if you just want updated photos of you and your partner—now is the perfect time to start planning. Reach out today to schedule your Indianapolis engagement session and let’s create timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.
