A Perfect Fall Family Session at West Park in Carmel, Indiana

Fall is one of my favorite times of year to photograph families in Carmel, Indiana—especially at West Park. This session was captured during that magical in-between stage of fall, when some trees were still lush and green while others had just started to change into rich, golden tones. The mix of colors made the park feel absolutely alive, and the light that evening was nothing short of perfect.

Even with a little wind in the air, we made the most of it and ended up with a gallery full of beautiful movement and natural moments. West Park is one of my go-to locations for family sessions because it has so much variety—open fields, tree-lined paths, and plenty of room for kids to run and explore.

Little Miss Ari completely stole the show during this session. She’s about to celebrate her second birthday, and her joy and curiosity made for some of my favorite images. I always love when toddlers get to be themselves during sessions—it’s those genuine smiles, messy giggles, and tiny details that make family photography so special.
