Best Engagement Session Locations in Indianapolis

I’ve done the work, put in the time- as an Indianapolis Photographer of 7+ years, I finally put together my favorite session locations in the greater Indianapolis area. From industrial, cityscape, to gardens and lush florals, I covered something for everyone!

Newfields + The Lily House | Broad Ripple Area

Newfields is truly one of those unicorn locations where they have everything. I can not recommend this location enough for those hoping for a more elegant or garden vibe. The location posts acres and acres of beautiful gardens, greens, and colorful florals. One of the biggest drawls to this specific location, though, is the big white mansion, The Lily House. My clients love the ornate detailing of the Lily House, the beautiful views of the White River off of the terrace, and of course the iconic archways!

Lockerbie Square | Downtown Indianapolis

Historical Ambassador House & Gardens | Fishers, IN

Let it be known, I truly believe this is *the best* location in Indianapolis. I truly believe this park and historical home is the *it girl* photo session location. Between the lush greenery and beautiful landscaping, perfect amount of textures between the architecture, and the best lighting – all day long. The Ambassador House is a hidden GEM!

Indiana State House | Downtown Indianapolis

If you love history, ornate delating, architecture, and that glowy gold-lighting romantic look-seriously look no further. This historical downtown Indy gem is it for you. I love to see a white gown in this space with all of the beautiful neutral and gold accents.

Indianapolis Public Library | Downtown Indianapolis

Romantic and cozy had a baby and is the Indianapolis Public Library. Deep rich wood tones, marble, classic archways and crown molding came together to set the vibe. As if the inside wasn’t perfect, the outside is equally as gorgeous with a large private garden and beautiful architecture!

Indiana War Memorial | Downtown Indianapolis

The Indiana War Memorial is the spot for city scape lovers! I recommend this for a classic or glamorous vibe with the gold doorways. I find this location to be consistent all seasons-something that is hard in a Midwest state. You can always count on this Iconic Indianapolis landmark to provide perfect even light!

Coxhall Gardens | Carmel, IN

Carmel Clay Parks keep it real, they’re always clean, manicured, and green! We can count on Coxhall Gardens to be perfect no matter the season. I really enjoy the lighting and neutral backdrop this location offers. Besides the gorgeous ampitheater pictured, the park boasts ponds, walking trails, tall grass, a lovely brick mansion for the architecture lovers and wonderful landscaping throughout.
