We finally finished our front room! This room has been a work in progress as its look has changed many many times over the months we’ve lived here. Our historical home in Downtown Indianapolis has SO much character, but this room is the icing on the cake. With its original wood trim, gorgeous pocket doors, and beautiful original fireplace-its a stunner. Being kept the oldest room in the house, we have most of our ‘inheritable’ items in here!
I love that this room is such a collection of both Andrew and I. Most of the items in this room were passed down from family members, and we feel so lucky that they have a new life in our home! I’ll list them below.
The yellow chair in the corner was from my great grandparents laundry mat and I’m lucky enough to have one of the five left! The wooden stool and yellow phone are from my grandparents.
This Wurlitzer organ was Andrews late grandmas and was actually played at this parents wedding. Above it sits a lamp they also had in their living room.
The blue table and lamp here was also Andrew’s grandmas! It fits our record player perfectly. The film camera sitting next to fit was given to me by my great uncle when I started my photography journey!
The navy blue record box in the corner was from my grandparents record collection, they actually gave us over a hundred records when we got a record player. Above it sits a vintage suitcase given to me by my mom and on the wall hangs an old railroad blueprint. The blueprint was gifted to us by one of our best friends and it sits in a frame that was in Andrew’s grandmas house!
