A Sweet Lifestyle Newborn Session in Fishers, Indiana

There are some newborn sessions that just make you smile from the second you walk through the door, and baby Carter’s session was definitely one of them.

As a Fishers Indiana newborn photographer, I get to photograph so many brand-new little babies and their families, but Carter had something I had never seen before: THE LONGEST BABY HAIR!

Seriously.

When I first walked into the Owens family’s home, I immediately said, “Aww, so much hair!” Then I got a little closer and said, “Oh my gosh, such LONG hair!” I could not believe how much hair this sweet baby had.

Naturally, I had to ask Mom, Anna, if she had experienced a lot of heartburn during pregnancy because apparently that is the old wives’ tale when it comes to babies being born with lots of hair.

Her answer?

Nope.

So much for that theory!

A Beautiful Fishers Newborn Photography Session

The Owens family was just the sweetest, and I loved getting to spend the morning with them. Even Anna’s mom came over to help during the session, which made the whole morning feel so relaxed and family-oriented.

Their home in Fishers, Indiana was also absolutely perfect for lifestyle newborn photography. They had beautiful natural morning light coming into the rooms we used, and the colors throughout their home were soft and neutral without being overly styled.

It was one of those homes where I walked in and immediately thought, this is going to photograph beautifully.

And it did.

Why I Love In-Home Newborn Photography

One of my favorite things about lifestyle newborn sessions is that we don’t need a perfectly styled space or a picture-perfect house. Your home is where your baby is actually growing up, and there is something really special about documenting this season right there.

For Carter’s newborn session, the morning light, the soft colors in their home, and all of the little details came together so naturally.

But more than anything, the focus was on the Owens family.

The cuddles. The tiny baby details. The way everyone gathered around Carter. The sweet moments between parents and their new baby.

Those are the images that make a newborn gallery feel personal.
