Engagement Session in Historic Aurora, Indiana | Indianapolis Engagement Photographer

As an Indianapolis engagement photographer, I love when my job takes me somewhere new—and this session was extra special! I recently made a little trip to Aurora, Indiana, a charming and historical town nestled along the Ohio River, to photograph Jessica and Austin’s engagement session.

These two have the sweetest story. Jessica and Austin met right outside Tiffany’s Salon—Austin was working there at the time, and Jessica happened to be visiting. From that moment on, their connection grew quickly, and it was so fun hearing them reflect on how it all began. I love when couples choose meaningful locations for their engagement photos, and this one couldn’t have been more personal.

As we explored downtown Aurora together, they shared more about their roots in the area—including family ties to local businesses. I was especially intrigued to hear about Austin’s dad’s steakhouse, J Miller Steakhouse! We stopped here for a beer and a few photos. Their stories added so much depth and personality to the session, and it felt like I was walking through a living scrapbook of their relationship and family history.

Aurora is full of charm, with its historical buildings, brick sidewalks, and the rolling hills I didn’t even know existed in Indiana. Seriously—who knew Indiana could be so hilly and scenic? It made for such a fun and picturesque backdrop for their engagement photos.

Jessica and Austin were full of laughs and so easy to photograph. I’m already counting down the days to their wedding in March—it’s going to be amazing!
