Coxhall Gardens Engagement Session | Carmel & Indianapolis Wedding Photographer

Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting up with Macy and Kai for their engagement session at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana. As a Carmel and Indianapolis wedding photographer, this location is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a local gem that offers beautiful backdrops year-round—from romantic bridges and tall grass fields to that signature golden hour light we all love.

I’ll admit I was a little nervous heading into the session, thinking the park might be packed with people. But to my surprise, we practically had Coxhall Gardens to ourselves! It was such a peaceful evening and the perfect setting for this sweet couple’s session. We ventured around the gardens and pond to the famous centerpiece, before making our way around the pond to the willow trees where we caught a glimpse of sunset.

Meeting Macy in person after so many kind and thoughtful emails was such a joy. She’s every bit as lovely in real life, and together with Kai, they brought such a warm, easygoing energy to the evening. We chatted about their new jobs, wedding planning, and all the exciting changes this next year will bring. I’m already counting down the days to their wedding next May at The Bluffs at Conner Prairie in Noblesville—one of the most scenic venues for outdoor weddings in central Indiana.

Their session was full of soft, romantic tones that perfectly captured their love story. From the laughter to the quiet in-between moments, it was a dream to photograph.
