Hi! I’m Kaylee Creighton, a wedding and family photographer based in Central Indiana. For over eight years, I’ve had the joy of capturing countless smiling faces, and I truly love what I do. I’m also a proud mom to the sweetest three-year-old boy, Beau, and wife to my wonderful husband, Andrew. We live in Indianapolis, where we’re currently restoring our charming 100-year-old historic home—an adventure in itself!
Family, friends, and community have always been at the heart of my life, shaping my values and deep appreciation for tradition. Photography is more than just taking pictures for me—it’s about preserving the meaningful connections and special moments that tell a story. It took me some time to put into words exactly why I do what I do, but at its core, it’s about celebrating love, relationships, and the beauty of everyday life.
Photography has always been more than just a career to me—it’s a passion deeply rooted in my love for people and the moments that define our lives. As someone who is deeply sentimental, I understand the immense value of photographs. They are not just images; they are pieces of our personal history. To me, photos are everything—they’re the way we hold onto our loved ones, our memories, and our stories.
I don’t take it lightly that one day, our loved ones won’t be with us. When that time comes, the only things left will be the photographs and the memories. I’ve always believed that photographs have the power to freeze time—to hold onto moments that might otherwise slip through our fingers. It’s a way of passing down our legacy, a tangible reminder of who we are, where we’ve been, and who we’ve loved.
When I’m behind the camera, I find myself capturing more than just the posed smiles. Sure, we all love a great family portrait with everyone looking their best, but what truly moves me are the in-between moments—the subtle details that tell a story. I often find myself drawn to things like the tiny baby curl at the back of your newborn’s head, the soft chubbiness of your toddler’s hands, or your grandma laughing in the middle of a conversation. I love capturing the emotion—a candid moment where you can see someone’s joy, laughter, or even a quiet moment of reflection. Those are the photos that mean the most, not just in the present, but years from now.
It’s these documentary-style moments that I cherish the most. The ones where you’re not posing, not planning, but just being who you are. The real, raw, everyday moments—the small gestures that become so meaningful with time. The glance shared between a couple, a hug between siblings, or the way a parent lovingly holds their child’s hand. It’s these moments I believe truly capture the heart of who we are, and they’re the ones that we look back on with nostalgia and a deep sense of gratitude.
That’s not to say I won’t take the traditional smiling-at-the-camera shots too. I absolutely do! Every family deserves those classic, beautiful portraits that show everyone at their best. But my goal is to capture all the layers of your story—the ones that will bring you back to the moment when you see them years from now. Because in the end, it’s not just about the perfect family photo; it’s about the feelings, the connections, and the memories that those photos hold.
When you book a session with me, you can expect a blend of those timeless portraits and those fleeting, documentary-style moments. I want to help you preserve your legacy and give you something to hold onto for years to come. A collection of photos that not only shows how you looked, but who you were—the heart of your story.
