Studio Newborn Session in Downtown Indianapolis

Sometimes the timing of a session works out so perfectly it almost feels meant to be.

The Reinking family reached out to me the day before their baby’s due date to book both their maternity and newborn photos. Normally maternity sessions happen weeks earlier, but somehow everything aligned beautifully for their family.

The very next morning, bright and early, they met me at Holcomb Gardens during my fall mini sessions for their maternity photos and their last portraits as a family of three.

Fall mornings at Holcomb Gardens are always stunning, and this session was no exception. The gardens were the perfect backdrop for capturing this exciting moment for the Reinking family as they prepared to welcome their newest little one.

It’s rare that maternity photos can happen so close to a due date and still work out perfectly, but this session felt relaxed, joyful, and full of anticipation. Their toddler was so sweet, and it was incredibly special documenting those final moments before they became a family of four.

Just two weeks later, the Reinking family joined me in my downtown Indianapolis newborn photography studio to document their brand-new baby girl, Marcie.

Baby Marcie was an absolute delight during her session. She slept so peacefully and gave us the sweetest little expressions throughout the morning. Watching big sibling interactions during newborn sessions is always one of my favorite parts, and this family had such a natural, loving dynamic.

Studio newborn sessions allow plenty of time for feeding, snuggling, and capturing those tiny details that change so quickly in the first few weeks of life.

Such a Small World
