One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to meet couples during such an exciting season of life. This sweet couple recently moved to Indianapolis from California and are settling into their new home here in Indiana as they prepare for their wedding day.
We met up for a quick engagement session at Newfields in Indianapolis ahead of their wedding next month, and it was fun hearing about their transition to the Midwest and all the changes that come with planning a wedding while building a life in a new city.
Engagement sessions are always a great opportunity for couples to get comfortable in front of the camera before their wedding day. Most people don’t spend a lot of time being professionally photographed, so having a chance to practice, relax, and learn what feels natural can make a huge difference when the wedding day arrives.
One of the things I love most about engagement sessions is that they allow couples to slow down for a moment during the whirlwind of wedding planning. Between finalizing details, communicating with vendors, and preparing for the big day, it can be easy to forget to simply enjoy being engaged.
As an Indianapolis wedding photographer, I view engagement sessions as more than just another item on the wedding checklist. They give us a chance to work together before the wedding, help me learn how each couple naturally interacts, and allow everyone to walk into the wedding day feeling more confident and relaxed.
I’m especially excited for this couple’s upcoming wedding next month at Mustard Seed Gardens in Noblesville. It is always an honor to be trusted with documenting such an important chapter, and I can’t wait to celebrate alongside them as they officially begin this next adventure together.
Stay tuned for highlights from their wedding day soon!
